For many years, film makers around the world have made it their mission to create not only a great movie but, convey an impactful story. When directors have hidden meanings imbedded within every movie, they make with the intention of getting people to think and or realize something they hadn’t before. As they carefully shine light onto characters that offer valuable lessons for those who are watching. Considering, that writers move people with the words they choose to include within scripts to the severity of what they are going through. With that being said, I chose to utilize the art of film whose settings take place in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries that unpack the internal damage that gender roles have posed on women. I chose to create a collage of photos that would celebrate powerful women and the lengths took in order to achieve equality. That led me to the conclusion of my thesis statement of how gender roles have only proven to fuel a desire amongst women to break ties from all restrictions that prevent them from reaching a better future.

It´s true that movies play a huge role where if they present something wrong a good number of people can take it as a lesson. Therefore, it is important to have movies where women are not seen as ¨obedient, soft, and not powerful¨ but rather independent and strong women. Hollywood has a history of having controversial movies and some of them portray women in a very bad light. I think your topic is unique and shows the importance of cinematography and what it portrays.
