The AIDS crisis during the 1980s hit its peak. People were frantic and in panic over the unknown autoimmune disease. AIDS took many victims and influenced the rise in homophobia against gay men and the LGBT community. They faced a lot of discrimination and scrutiny socially, politically, and economically. My research was dedicated to finding out how and why the LGBT community was affected the most especially negatively.
