I was inspired by Wonder Woman by Ginny Lim. The Bridge Called My Back focuses on women of color and what on their minds regarding the issue of inequality. They include their personal thoughts and opinion including their experiences. All of the intercepts are different and similar at the same time. They are unique stories and however, they all share the same point. The poem of Wonder Woman was so unique because it talks about differences and similarities of women. It connects to other readings and goes deeply into explaining.
The quote: “I look at them and wonder if they are a part of me, I look in their eyes and wonder if they share my dreams” stood out to me because every woman has her own thoughts, experiences, and lives. We think everyone is different and no one may understand your pain and what you go through. However, there are people that have the same problems as you, but we do not let ourselves think that.
It would be so easier if we could share it and find people that just like us dream the same dreams and struggle with the same problems. Women are incredible but somehow we are so divided. If we were to stand together, it would help our community so much. Women have that power and someday we will stand united.
